I will resist another tall tale on how we acquired this David Austin rose. The truth is, I picked it out and made Hubby buy it for me. Although he buys flowers for me on special occasions, I also buy flowers for myself often. I buy a lot of flowers!
He does however comply quite graciously with my requests to hold flowers so that I can take pictures of them. He ends up holding many other things too...cast iron skillet, a box of cherries, toast with jam, carrots, and the list goes on. I sometimes even request a wardrobe change (into a white t-shirt)!
This rose is called Campanella. The florist at the New Seasons Market we frequent gave her to me because I was so taken by her beauty. I thought that was so nice of her.
As you can see, once again Hubby's photo assistance necessitated a wardrobe change. He is so patient with me. Nonetheless, since the babies arrived I've also had to take many more photos without his assistance. The poinsettia, the tulips, and the Easter basket were all pictures that I took of my reflection in our dining room mirror!
I think by the time I took a picture of the Easter basket, I thought to clean the mirror. Oops.
Trina,
ReplyDeleteI never tire of hearing your stories, or of seeing your beautiful flower photos! You are an inspiration!
A beautiful image for a beautiful day, I hope you do not mind I pined this to my flower page on Pinterest.
Have a wonderful day.
If I may ask, what is the name of the green paint on your door?
Thanks you and have a fabulous day, Elizabeth
I think Mike should join the actors or model union since he seems to be your main model. Hee Hee. The things we make our husbands do right? Mine is the same.

I just planted my first rose garden this year....6 David Austin roses! Five years after my husband gave me the DA gift certificates...some things worth the wait. Thank goodness for accommodating spouses...he was worth the wait as well.
ReplyDeleteWow, those images of you holding tulips, poinsettia and Easter basket were taken as a reflection in a mirror? That's amazing. The quality is spectacular! I'm sure that's not easy to do.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are lovely, Trina. You were my inspiration for starting a blog. Photography is my favorite part of blogging. I especially like photographing food. Sometimes my husband gets impatient when I'm styling a food shot -- because it's our dinner! I have to move quickly before the food gets cold!

Just put down the phone from David Austin Roses. My bare root roses arrived yesterday! Wish me luck! Your husband is quite the helper/stylist for your photos.
ReplyDeleteWOW - the Campenella is beautiful - like hundreds of little petticoats - and such a pretty colour! Once again hats off to your fabulous husband - not only HOLDING the flowers but also CHANGING CLOTHES to co-ordinate with them! That's a man after my own heart - an absolute LOVEGOD - now if I could just get my own husband to actually read my blog...!
ReplyDeleteYou take lovely photos, clean or dirty windows!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth,
ReplyDeleteDoor color is Evergreens by Sherwin Williams!

LOL!! You just make me laugh. By the way, tell your hubby he has very nice hands. :) And do pretty good with your "mirror" photos. Nice job. Love the roses. Kit
ReplyDeleteThis made me happy. Glad you have a patient helper
ReplyDeleteFunny about the mirrors. I always notice those things in my images a few zillion photos to late. What a good man your husband is to be your go-to guy for photo styling. Your images are stunning.
ReplyDeletethat last picture is so amazing - truly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!

I love flowers. And photographs of flowers. Especially roses, in a way that is authentic to them - not too structured, or expected, but just natural. That's what you've done here - lovely.
ReplyDeleteI too love beautiful flowers and these are stunning. Our farmer's market opened last weekend and the flowers were gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers and your assistance is very useful, we really do need them to help us don't we?
ReplyDeleteLove your blog.
Husband's a keeper! I love roses, planted 7 in the new garden this year. Can't wait for them to bloom.
ReplyDeleteThat flower is beautiful! I only have one rose bush and it's a Knockout Rose that my son and DIL got me for Mother's Day a couple of years ago. I'm forever posting a picture on my blog and later seeing something I should have cleaned, moved or put away. Your photos and your assistant are just great.

Trina,
ReplyDeletethis made me laugh, ahhhh...the husbands of bloggers are no doubt a suffering bunch! Your sweeties are getting so big...hmmm new design assistants or at least flower holders!!!
xo,
~Rebecca
You're so good! I'm going to buy myself a flower tomorrow and clean my mirrors!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! I'm your newest follower and subscriber! Come on over to my bog and check out what I am doing this planting season. Fun, fun!!
ReplyDeleteHi Trina! I've been following your blog and its a great 'scape for me. I also buy flowers, weekly by spring time. New Seasons has a great selection and when you get to the city, check Trader Joe's for flowers as well. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteMary
Beautiful post and blog!:) Would you like to follow each other?
ReplyDeleteYour roses are beautiful and Mike is so good to hold them for you AND change his t-shirt - he is so sweet!
