Tulips

Last fall I planted our first tulip bulbs in the yard. The variety is called 'Triumph' and came from Van Bloem Gardens.

It was pure joy to watch her rise up from the spring ground and say hello. I think even dear Hubby said hello back.

This fall, I'm going to make a point of getting many more bulbs to plant around the yard because there's nothing quite sweeter than to see that little sleeping bulb come up in the spring and blossom into a beautiful flower.

Happy weekend dear friends. xo

  1. Oh they are just gorgeous. What a wonderful sight in the yard and then to have some to bring in the house. If they would grow here in the desert, I would plant hundreds. Love them. Hugs, Marty

  2. So pretty! Last fall I finally *remembered* to plants lots of spring bulbs and oh how lovely they are. Today the tulips are waving in the warm breeze, the hyacinths and giving off the most heavenly scent and although the daffodils are past now, they were so vibrant and made me smile each time I looked at them. I vowed to, each fall, plant a few more. Enjoy your pretty tulips and have a great weekend! Heather

  11. such pretty images trina! i love bulbs too, and used to plant bucket fulls each winter in my farm garden. i thought of it kind of like a savings account for beauty, keep tucking away a few penny's each year, and before you know it you have a jackpot. julesxxx

  13. Your tulips are beautiful as is the little milk glass vase. I wish I had a yard to plant bulbs in - but we will just have to get by with our beloved Central Park - all the beauty - none of the work - but they do let volunteers help - so when I feel the need to be knee deep in mulch (LOVE that smell) - I can!

  15. Think I'll pencil it in the calendar {paper and Google} NOW so I don't forget to remember that sweet sight of bulbs popping up in the yard come the fall....when I'm getting way tired of the whole yard maintenance thing and am actually looking forward to putting the gardens to sleep for the winter! Was walking by another blog and decided to detour to yours....really love it!

Been following your lovely blog for a couple of weeks now and just wanted to say how much I enjoy your photos!! I adore weather boarded houses (am a GREAT Barefoot Contessa fan, and not just for her cooking.....) and yours is just such a beautiful example! Everything looks so calm and peaceful, bright and fresh! Makes me want to have a good de-clutter in my little cottage and wanting my surfaces back.... I shall be back!
