Morning Light

Sunlight has been scarce around these parts for the last few months. In fact, it's absence has been the talk of the town.

Northwesterners are pretty patient for their sunshine. But come June, there's a hunger for sunny days that puts a lot of pressure on dear old Mother Nature.

We had a beautiful taste of her warm smile a few days ago, which prompted us to enthusiastically put on some of our window screens. But alas, the cool temperatures are back and the sun is elusive once again.

When the sun graces us, it's worth reveling in. Walking into the living room this morning made me want to curl up like a cat and bask in the warmth of that sweet morning sun...while it lasts.

  3. I totally agree as we have been dealing with not the nicest weather in the PNW this year. The sun reflecting into your room was absolutely beautiful and relaxing. Here is to more sunny rays coming through our windows :) Hugs ~ Laura

  5. I hope you did curl up in the sun! Things couldn't be more different here in the UK. It's been nice and sunny a lot more often than it usually is in North Wales, though it's a little cloudy today. Already the UK media are saying there will be a drought... Happy days!
Your room looks so fresh and relaxing.

  8. I would gladly share some of our sun with you. Here in Alabama the temperature is in the high 90's with a heat index of 105 this week. Plenty of sun to go around. We gave our puppy a bath last night and let her out on the back porch to dry. She was dry and warm within 10 minutes! Have a good weekend. :)

  10. Don't you just love the warm comforting feel when your room is washed in bright sunlight! I love naps on the couch with the sun streaming in especially if there's a cool breeze. Your room is so lovely all lit up like that ~ isn't it amazing what a little sun can do to lift our spirits. :)
    Have a beautiful weekend ~

  11. Your living room looks so comfortable! I hope the sun sticks around this time, it's been a dreary June in the PNW!

  12. I was so happy to see the sun shining throughout your beautiful living room...the two were meant for each other! The peonies are stunning too...they *and* the sun shared the spotlight here I think.

BTW- We're having sun streaming through our windows this very day...hope you are too! If summer doesn't show up soon, I fear I will be turning into a mushroom...which are growing along side my potted thyme and tarragon right now... that's just not right for mid June!

    Lovely post...

  14. Love the pictures Trina! While we have had plenty of sunshine (and thundershowers)...the heat has been quite unbearable already (90+ and 100+ in the humidity dept.) and it is only JUNE!!! Right now we are in sunny, hot, humid Orlando FL for volleyball and I thought Atlanta was bad.

  17. I know exactly how you feel. After spending 3 of the wettest years in Ireland, I'm back in Canada for the summer and we've been blessed with quite a bit of sunshine - I feel completely renewed - like a whole new person! : ) here's wishing you sunshine...

  22. Hi Trina, what a gorgeous room. Yes, we have not seen the sun here in two weeks (until today!). Our garden is drenched from unrelenting rain. I love the rain, but after 2 weeks I was also complaining!!

Are your Rowe chairs comfy? Are they large enough to curl up in??
I am going to Vancouver in a few days and trying to find Rowe and Lee dealers so I can test drive a few....
