    1. I was going to but I'm having issues with blogger so decided to try not writing any words and it fixed it! The XMAS tree has been endless entertainment for our dumplings. Each ornament (that is low enough) has been taken off, examined and has played a part in some theatrical production they have created. The tree looks like all the ornaments are about to fall from the branches at any minute because when they are re-hung, their placement is at the very tip of the branch. Happy New Year! Best, Catherine

  6. Simple beauty in these pictures.

    Is the stove woodburing?

    1. Yes the stove is wood burning and we actually bought some firewood for a fire...Then we worried that it might kick up some old dust since it's been about a year since we had it lit last. And of course, so hot to touch with little ones. We'll have to save the firewood for our new house, a welcome thought. Best, Catherine

  7. I love the simplicity and beauty of you home, in a minute I could be settling in with a cup of tea and some needle work to do. I am looking forward to seeing the new home but will miss the rental. The best of 2016 to the whole family, Happy New Year.

  10. Lovely . . .
    I so do enjoy your posts . . .
Your paper whites stand tall and firm . . .
Mine always fall over, what's your secret . . .
The fragrance is worth the " fall over" though!

    1. Hi Lynne, I wonder if it's the variety of paper whites that makes them stand so strong. I had a couple that flopped, which I clipped and put into a vase. The majority of the other stems however were/are still standing tall. And not too tall. I am going to ask the florist about it. I will keep you posted on what I find out! Best, Catherine

    1. Yes, we went for a lovely walk by the sea Christmas Day. When we returned to our car, our key wouldn't work so we had to call AAA. But it was a glorious day and our delay allowed us to see the sunset. Something we would have otherwise missed. Happy New Year! Best wishes, Catherine
