As I mentioned in my last post, our new clapboards for the house were milled by our neighbor (as the crow flies).
They came in four varying lengths, which is custom whenever you order clapboards such as these.
Mike has the arduous task of priming all of them before they are installed. He has set up a priming workspace in the barn/garage....
...And here in the utility room.
Nate and Darryn have returned to install the clapboards for us after a few sill repairs.
The sill was rotten on the backside of the house where the stone patio was/is. Here the replacement sill has been maneuvered into place.
The house is going to be so different with the new siding. Between the pure sturdiness of the new clapboards and their contrasting white paint (to the previous grey), it will be dramatic.
Soon we will be able to describe our house without using the words 'the one with the peeling grey paint.'
