These are a few photos of our new house rental.
Our little cottage by the river has been wonderful over the past four months. We've also especially enjoyed the company of the folks that we rent from and share the property with. Logistically however, the small space created some challenges for us, most specifically with the kitchen, playroom, living and dining area all being in one room.
So we stumbled upon a nice historic Cape that was available, and decided that it was time to move to something larger that we could live more comfortably in for awhile.
It will also be nice to unpack our storage unit. We still haven't found our printer!
Or the charger for our video camera,
or my Canon Rebel,
or our little one shot....
We do know that they are somewhere that was very obvious for safe keeping.
So lovely! I can just imagine your touch.
ReplyDeleteMay peace fill each room and bless your sweet family.

I don't think that I could live that long without my Canon! Cheers! Johane
ReplyDeleteCatherine,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a dear place to imagine your family spending the winter - I love all of the fireplaces! What a lucky house to have such inhabitants!
Kate
Johane,
ReplyDeleteWe bought replacement chargers but they are complicated. Three pieces to attach together in order to charge battery. So the originals are much better and we can't wait to find them. Best, Catherine
What a lovely house. Did I miss a post somewhere? Where exactly are you? Not exactly, exactly of course... :) I just can't seem to find out where you moved to. Are you still in the US?
ReplyDeleteYour new, old spot seems like it will suit you. Best wishes! Your lovely sense of humor was not wasted. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great space. Love these rooms. I can't wait to see you work your magic! ~Sally @DrinkingFromMySaucer
ReplyDeleteit is beautiful. such character. can't wait to see how your touches add to it.
ReplyDeleteOh dear...the infamous "safe place"! I hope you find everything. I can never remember what seemed like such a logical place at the time I put something there for safekeeping. I usually find it when I'm looking for something else!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness - what a wonderful place. wishing you tons of happy memories within those walls. linda r (phila burbs)

Oh I love it ! I would like that house to live in now. My new house is not really my sort of taste in style and now that I am alone, your new rental would be great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful home - can't WAIT to see how you decorate it, going to be awesome, I just know it!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, it's always so nice to ahve a new "canvas" in which to create and make nice, isn't it?
I love this! Can't wait to see future posts. It would be fun to look in every nook and cranny. Happy nesting.

ReplyDeleteSuch a charming house! Have fun moving in!
ReplyDeleteCatherine, I'm so happy you're blogging again and I can't wait to see what you do with your new cottage. Your style is so tasteful and I've turned to your previous home for decorating inspiration. Is this new home in Oregon, too? I can't wait to see the landscape photos because your other home had such beautiful scenery all around.
ReplyDeletethis little rental looks promising.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure in no time you'll have it looking like home! even if it's temporary... home is where you coral your electronics and all their cords. ;) Pat
What character. Your rental reminds me of all the homes I grew up visiting as a child in New England. Enjoy this next phase in your life!
ReplyDeleteYou will make it beautiful! I hope your family is doing wonderful, I bet the twins have grown so, would love to see a new picture!

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and charming place to call home for now!
ReplyDeleteThe Cape is early 1800's and yes, we are in New England.
ReplyDeleteWhat a rental!! Love the fireplaces, floors, windows..... Your things will fit in perfectly! Sorry if you already gave this information - but are you in New England?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the fireplaces, will be perfect for fall and winter, it's a nice time to move! We moved into a rental on halloween before and it was nice to have a new space for the holidays!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a lovely home for you and your sweet family. It's a shame it is a rental -- you would do great things with that kitchen. But in no time, you will make it a lovely home. Please share more pictures as you progress with decorating. God bless your family in this new home.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!! I love this place you are going to "rent" I would be so glad to call it home!! Love the windows, the floors, the exposed beams,,,too much to list!! What does the outside look like? So cute!
ReplyDeleteCatherine:
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you and your family. I cannot wait to see how you decorate this house - your farmhouse was just beautiful and I am sure this house will be also.
I am sooooo glad that you are back blogging. I have missed you.
Oh, unpacking would be a joy, right? I don't know how you lasted this long- I couldn't. And I'm sure you will find everything. I hate it when I put something somewhere that at the time I thought was realllly clever. The place is very cute. And holy cow that stove hood. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you do with this. Your furnishing will be perfect for this style. I also love the gray paint they used.
ReplyDeleteOH MY! I know it's a rental, but wow, and the style gives your location away! Can't wait to see all your treasures in here! How are the children doing with the relocation? Hoping all is well!!! donna :)
ReplyDeleteSo incredibly charming!
ReplyDeleteI'm familiar with the very obvious place for safe keeping thing. That made me grin.
ReplyDeleteVery excited to see the new rental photos! Thank you for sharing them. Very much looking forward to more. I try to get excited about the modern, and it can be great, but those ceiling beams are delicious.
Take care, Em
What a beautiful home! That's what I wish my home looked like--all except for the brick vinyl floor. I laughed when I saw it. When we built a new house in the early 80's when we were first married, that same floor was in our kitchen! At the time, I really wanted a real brick floor.
ReplyDeleteA charming home that I KNOW you will make exquisitely charming in no time. :)
ReplyDelete(Did you tell us where you are exactly??)
xo Terri
Oh it's lovely and I sure wouldn't want to part with that lil gem myself.Looks like your style though, hope you will be comfortable!
ReplyDeleteI know every time we move we loose our silverware and we know we put it somewhere safe we will be sure to remember,Lol
Do share pics when you are settled :) Thx for sharing
It is charming and seems to fit your aesthetic perfectly. Can't wait to see your touch on it.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! It is absolutely perfect. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteWow - I too love all of the fireplaces! Can't wait to see what winter looks like at your new place :)
ReplyDeleteThe new rental looks perfectly charming! I'm sure you're loving having more space.
ReplyDeletexxojoan
A great rental with some character...well done.
ReplyDeleteHow on earth did you find such a gem? I love love love it!
ReplyDeleteBrick vinyl kitchen floor. We had some of that too along with about 5 other layers, the history of non wood flooring. This is a beautiful house and I love how you are making it home.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with your house - it's exactly what I'm hoping for in our next home.
