...for wee ones.
I saw this little wicker love seat a while ago in one of my favorite antique stores. In a quiet moment several days later, I thought the babies would have so much fun with that.
Recently, we were back in that neck of the woods and I decided that if the little wicker love seat still happened to be there, we should get it for the babies. And when I say 'we' I mean myself and my other self who supports such ideas.
The love seat was indeed still there but as I looked more closely, I saw that there was also a matching rocking chair and table to go with it.
So the little love seat ended up becoming a set.
After setting up the tiny wicker furniture on our porch, we showed it to the babies. Margaret immediately began re-arranging everything, which made me laugh. And Graham, well he glanced at it for a half second, and then he was off and running (with Mike at his heels).

What a lovely post! I grew up with that identical (I may find a picture!) little "loveseat" and it influenced my taste to this day!
ReplyDeleteI have been a professional decorator (I was also rearranging furniture at 4)! for 42 years!
What a wonderful story! Encourage that little girl to keep going! It is a wonderful and happy career!
Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteI was just looking at some wicker bedheads on a website for $400 and remembered that I had one as a child back in the 70's, should have hung on to it.

What a lovely set! And obviously well needed, thinks Margaret. It would have been a crime to leave it in the store!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! I guess sweet little Margaret is taking after her Mommy!!! :) Enjoy them! donna
ReplyDeleteSo very charming and sweet . . . the setting, the wicker, the precious . . .
ReplyDeleteOh, this story is so sweet. I am so glad 'we' went back and bought it for the wee ones. How funny and sweet that 'M' started rearranging the set up and 'G' went running with his dad!!! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhen my husband and I bought our first house back in '93, we bought white wicker furniture for our guest room as the price was right! Some of the pieces ended up in my daughter's room, and now those pieces have been retired. Seeing this post brings back memories, though!
ReplyDeleteI love the wicker furniture. We love ours we have black! Boy the babies are getting big. Hope you have a great day
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! That set is so darling!
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious wicker set! I have had a love affair with wicker since an early age... even hauled an antique wicker rocker off to college with me. Now my back porch is filled with it, and goodness knows how many times it has been spraypainted. Your daughter will love it!

ReplyDeleteAwww...this brings back memories. My girls had a little wicker set when they were younger. Many tea parties were held with that set and their dolls. I cannot believe how much Margaret has grown. I love the pigtails.
ReplyDeleteI love Margaret's swimsuit (at least I think that's what it is). I can't believe how big she looks compared to earlier pictures! Oh and nice wicker too. :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable! The wicker loveseat, et. al, and Margaret...oh, the tea parties.....

ReplyDeleteThese are such a nice and lovely piece of wicker furniture, the furniture has a little resemblance with the old ancient and shabby chic furniture, which are the most famous one in the furniture market. Thanks.

Nathan.
