Grocery store flowers - $7.99.
I would have bought more but Hubby was with us.
When I added them to the already overflowing cart, I said, "I believe you specifically requested white ranunculus on our grocery list...that's right, don't forget pretty white ranunculus."
He doesn't remember writing such a thing.

If you husband didn't write the note, I suspect it must have been baby Graham, the little rascal!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers!!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! They look like they are made of silk or delicate crepe paper. Isn't nature wonderful?

ReplyDeleteI can't believe you found these in the grocery store. I have looked through mine lately but it's just the orchids, the roses, the bunches of cut flowers. Nothing spectacular! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteoooooooh so lovely! i would probably buy out the store if i saw any ranunculus at our grocery!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful hubby you have! :)
ReplyDeleteMy grandma always said that if you are down to your last two dollars you should spend one on food for you body and one on flowers for your soul. Looks like you get that. Thanks for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteYou might tell him that you are really getting worried about his poor memory :-).....love the flowers - white is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, my husband is exactly the same!!! And I ADORE (white) ranunculus..

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Off I go to buy some flowers!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bouquet. It's difficult shopping with husbands isn't it? :)
ReplyDeleteWe have a market here and it is called "Fish, Flowers, Food land" and I always love buying fish, flowers and food there. Your flowers are my favorite.
ReplyDeletepve
It must be a common trait in husbands. Mine always seems to forget the same thing - that and chocolate. He never remembers writing that either...
ReplyDeleteThey're lovely.
Men are so forgetful sometimes! ;)
ReplyDeleteKat
Ranunculus are my favorite flowers - I can't believe you found them at the grocery store! Beautiful find!
ReplyDeleteToo funny - did you happen to buy them at Stop & Shop? I just bought ranunculus there - same price! Great minds http://gracefulwhimsy.blogspot.com/2012/04/ranunculusly-pretty.html
ReplyDeleteGood one :)!
ReplyDeletePretty and economical ...
I would 'forget' something else on the list just to have a few flowers for the house. I love ranunculus.

ReplyDeleteI've always believed to little pick me up are flowers, whether store bought or from your own garden!
ReplyDeleteoh my love!!!
ReplyDeleteMine are blooming like crazy! I planted so many roots last year, forgetting where and what color. What a beautiful surprise! White is my choice, though! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm howling! That husband 'damper' thing rears it's head sometimes...I feel your pain! LOL! Aren't ranunculus, with their tissue paper thin petals, stunning in their complex beauty? They always look so happy to be so pretty!
ReplyDeletexoxo, Chris
I have several of these growing in my yard at the moment...they are beyond pretty...I can't bring myself to clip them to bring inside though. Now I am going to have to! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI know, I always have to remind my husband of his "floral requests." Those would make a wonderful painting! I love the pattern of the petals.
ReplyDeleteLovely, I'm about to put an order in for some ranunculus bulbs, the most lovely spring flower!
ReplyDeleteThese are SO pretty. I'm always hoping to find them at our grocery, but no luck! Lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Ranunculus - always so lovely. Hoping to plant some this year!
ReplyDeleteHilarious!!!! I so know what you're talking about. Aren't Ranunculus beautiful??? My hubby and I went to Seattle (We're in Vancouver, BC) and we went to go visit Rejuvenation. Holy crap, gorgeous store!!! Thanks for the introduction. Portland is it's flagship store and it certainly kicks butt over Seattle's. California has one now in Berkeley.
ReplyDeleteI can so relate to the comment about your hubby. Too funny. Happy Ester.
ReplyDeleteHow easily they forget the important things.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful arrangement, beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteDear Trina - I am new to your blog, and having discovered it, am so delighted! Your home is really beautiful and simple, just what I love. I actually have photos of your kitchen shelves on Pinterest. I think that's how I found you. BTW, your photography and styling is awesome! Cheers, Loi Thai - Tone on Tone
ReplyDeleteI want your grocery store.
ReplyDeleteLove pretty ranunnculuses.
ReplyDeleteWonder what the plural really is.
They are one of my favorites flowers :)
~ Dana
This made me grin with recognition. :)
ReplyDeleteThe other week my husband had Friday off, which is the day when we have Farmer's Market here. He came along with me, and the man at the flower stand said to him, "Your wife buys flowers from me every week." To which my husband smiled and said, "I know, and my wallet knows."
SIGH. I just can't help it. Fresh flowers at home are so important.
These are so creamy and beautiful!
xoxo
Gorgeous - one of my fav flowers :O)
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you & your family.

They look like a million bucks.. so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWorth every penny!
ReplyDeleteRanunculus are probably my all-time favorite flowers. These white ones are especially beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHello, I'm Keri and I've just found your lovely blog and am happy to be your newest follower!
Happy Easter!
The white ranunculus are beautiful, but rather than buying them at the grocery market, please buy them from a flower shop, otherwise, we (flower shops), will soon have to close our doors.
ReplyDeleteDear Anon,
ReplyDeleteThe grocery store is locally owned in Portland. What's great about their floral section is that a lot of the flowers they carry come from local farms and/or florists.
The store is called New Seasons.
Best, Trina
I love that they are using local flowers. Makes them more special ;)
ReplyDeleteBut now, he won't forget next time!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
wow your blog is so enchanting and honest and colorful. I had to stop and congratulate you, I am a fan :).
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe they were at the grocery store.
The Florist at that grocery must be pretty impressive too.
And please accept my condolences about poor hubby's faulty memory lolol...this kind of "floral forgetfulness" is likely to occur more frequently in the days to come.
Have a Lovely EASTER!
In Him,
Grace
Thank heavens *you* remembered...otherwise, someone would have had to drive all the way back to the store! ;)
ReplyDeletexo J~
PS...They're beautiful!
I love those...wonderful flowers....I would have bought them too.....

ReplyDeleteCiao,
Mary
Gorgeous! Reminds me of my wedding bouquet. I always feel so guilty buying flowers but enjoy them so much when I look at them at home!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! I have been admiring the pictures of your home in the Country living mag. I keep going back to it! We built our home 12 years ago. My Husband at the time wanted to paint all white. Not me needed color. Now 12 years later I am craving white! My question is what color and brand did you use on your walls? I have been trying to match with samples with no success. My other question is I have six Children with one on the way. Is white hard to keep clean. I have white on all my trim. Again love your blog . Your Children are too cute! I blog a little. May get back into now that I have seen yours! Blessings to you and your beautiful Family. Thanks Marla

ReplyDeleteHi Maria,
ReplyDeleteWhite has been great in our house, even with toddlers! I really think that the white makes the house feel cleaner even amidst the sometimes untidy chaos!
Congratulations on your new baby.
xoTrina
Thanks Trina for replying! I think I will try the white. You said perfectly for the feeling I am looking for! I saw in another post you used simply white by benj Moore in your Nursery. Did you use same throughout? Thanks again and blessings, Marla
ReplyDeleteYes, I kept it simple...Simply White on everything. Trim, doors, walls, cabinets.
ReplyDeleteTrina
Thanks so much Trina! You picked the perfect white! Love it! Will be stopping by often! Will let you know how the transition to white goes! Marla
ReplyDeleteThe white ranunculus are beautiful!
