Hubby (also known as Mike or Sweetie...or for this post, Pumpkin), has celebrated another birthday. He's forty (again). He's decided to stick with forty for another year...or so, and I couldn't help but oblige him.
Here's the Birthday Boy.
I made him a Pumpkin Spice birthday cake using pumpkins from the garden.
I love that you can use your own pumpkins. Happy birthday to your hubby. There is nothing wrong with celebrating 40 and celebrating it more than once is a great idea.
Happy Birthday to your sweety!! Love your pictures, makes you want to dive into your life as a beautiful world of imagination, from those on the outside!
tell mike, i mean sweetie that i wish him a happy 40th again and that i have thoroughly enjoyed all the projects that he has done. he has excellent taste in women and home renovations. i love his exacting nature and can't wait to see that in place while raising twins!
Happy Birthday to your pumpkin. Love the cake. What a great use of your extra pumpkins!!
I love your brown transfer ware. It's exactly what I want, but can't find anywhere. Where have you found yours? Martha Stewart used to have a collection of it, but I don't think she does it anymore.
Happy Bday to your pumpkin. :) Why wasn't I creative enough to turn 40 again this year?! I'll have to remember that one for next year. Enjoy that delicious cake. Hugs~ T
Libras are fabulous, although I am slightly biased since my husband and myself also happen to be such. Thank you for the recipe. I adore everything pumpkin and I now know what kind of cake I'm making for both our birthdays. Oh, and happy belated birthday to your very own pumpkin.
Hi Smileyisles, That pitcher is new. I picked it up at Marshalls while ago for very cheap. I would love an antique one but so far, they've all been out of my price range.
Court5m, They are roses indeed. They're David Austin roses and they do look so much like peonies.
Happy 40th (again) Mike. You look great and we all love you and wish our husbands were as handsome and (most importantly) handy and (even more importantly) kind and sweet as you are to your girl and your dog. You are awesome!
Your next year with your beautiful wife will be the most amazing ever. We can't wait to see what happens next. Enjoy it and take a break sometimes, ok?!
I hope he has a great birthday. It looks like the coming year will be a very, very happy year for you all. The pumpkin cake looks very good and I am sure you both enjoyed it! Did Lucy get a snip of cake too? I also think this is such a sweet post! :>)
I've been 29 forever so being 40 for a while is A-OKAY in my book! This next year will be such a special year for you Mike...your little 'pumpkins' will be the best gift ever!
Such a perfect cake to make...looks so good!xoxo J~
Happy Birthday to the hubs! ...and I so resemble that remark about being forty again. LOL, I turned forty-three this summer. I may have to use his line next year. That cake looks absolutely delicious. Off to look at your recipe.
I didn't know George Clooney was guesting over at ACFH Trina! He looks so relaxed sitting on your gorgeous verandah - hope his birthday was just peach-y (or in his case pumpkin-y) Love Millie ^_^
Just close your eyes and count to ten. Ready or not here it comes. It's ok, it really is, besides every year older is a another year wiser....No matter what number you are, your darling wife thinks that you hung the moon and soon your son & daughter will think so too!
What a sweet wife you are to send your hubby birthday wishes this way! :) He wears "40+" very well, I might add. Such a handsome guy! And that cake looks absolutely delicious, girl! Gotta keep that recipe close by for when our pumpkins are ready.... Hope you both had a happy day today!
Delicious! I bet fall in Oregon is absolutely lovely - and PUMPKIN everything! I miss that about the NW here in Southern California. It will never be as magical.
