My Mom always planted ranunculus in my Grandmother's garden every spring. I always think of the them oohing and ahhing over these full feathered flowers whenever I see them.
They are wonderful - very evocative. I can recall the same ohhing and ahhing in my Grandmother's garden in Denmark, but it was over roses and the performance of the gooseberry bush! LB
Looooove ranunculus but have never grown them and my mother has a (brilliant) Australian native garden, possibly why I am so drawn to English cottage gardens because I find them quite exotic compared to our drought tolerant natives. It is bulb planting time here in Australia so I might just get going on some ranunculus in some pots for a sweet Spring surprise!
I am desperate for ranunculus this year and I am having such trouble getting the colours I want! Hot pink and burgundy are available. I want white, pale pink, not so pale pink and hot pink (just like you have there) BUT I can't find bulbs in Australia in that lovely soft pink!!!!!!! Love your post.
Trina, you always have the best flowers! Love to see them arranged so simply as you do. I have a hard time finding ranunculus here in Canada, the flower shops rarely have them. The pink ones are divine.
Sweet greetings from Frog Hollow Farm. Ranunculus - I have always loved them. What is it about that flower? Beautiful photos, thanks for sharing. If I could collect all the beautiful flower photos that I see on your blog, I would have a gorgeous bouquet. Ciao, bella!
What beautiful flowers! It is always nice when a memory is sparked by something such as this. I love the choice of container-it is a perfect pairing. Carla
They don't last forever, but they do last a long time. I remember the first time I ever saw these flowers - I was entranced. I love to have yellow and pink ones together - they say 'spring is really here'.
Trina, good morning. You must be a happy girl to be surrounded by so much beauty... Everything you photograph, especially the flowers, are always so beautiful!
Your pictures and the flowers are just beautiful (and I love the milk glass vase)! My mother always planted ranunculus in her window boxes, when I was young I thought they were roses and their cheery colors always make me smile, as I am now. xo J~
Oh how I love ranuculus. Every Spring they are the first flower I buy to bring home to cheer things up a bit. (besides the forsythia branches that I love to force) Your phots are just gorgeous!
Any flower that reminds you of someone you love gets extra, extra points in my book. Beautiful photos as always. Is pink your favorite color for flowers?
They are just the most beautiful flower, aren't they? I adore them. Your posts are always so beautiful! Love your marble lamps...each one is so special.
