White Ranunculus

Grocery store flowers - $7.99.

I would have bought more but Hubby was with us.

When I added them to the already overflowing cart, I said, "I believe you specifically requested white ranunculus on our grocery list...that's right, don't forget pretty white ranunculus."

He doesn't remember writing such a thing.

  1. If you husband didn't write the note, I suspect it must have been baby Graham, the little rascal!

  8. I can't believe you found these in the grocery store. I have looked through mine lately but it's just the orchids, the roses, the bunches of cut flowers. Nothing spectacular! Lucky you!

  11. My grandma always said that if you are down to your last two dollars you should spend one on food for you body and one on flowers for your soul. Looks like you get that. Thanks for sharing with us.

  17. It must be a common trait in husbands. Mine always seems to forget the same thing - that and chocolate. He never remembers writing that either...

    They're lovely.

  26. I know, I always have to remind my husband of his "floral requests." Those would make a wonderful painting! I love the pattern of the petals.

  30. Hilarious!!!! I so know what you're talking about. Aren't Ranunculus beautiful??? My hubby and I went to Seattle (We're in Vancouver, BC) and we went to go visit Rejuvenation. Holy crap, gorgeous store!!! Thanks for the introduction. Portland is it's flagship store and it certainly kicks butt over Seattle's. California has one now in Berkeley.

  36. This made me grin with recognition. :)
The other week my husband had Friday off, which is the day when we have Farmer's Market here. He came along with me, and the man at the flower stand said to him, "Your wife buys flowers from me every week." To which my husband smiled and said, "I know, and my wallet knows."
SIGH. I just can't help it. Fresh flowers at home are so important.
These are so creamy and beautiful!

  40. The white ranunculus are beautiful, but rather than buying them at the grocery market, please buy them from a flower shop, otherwise, we (flower shops), will soon have to close our doors.

  41. Dear Anon,
The grocery store is locally owned in Portland. What's great about their floral section is that a lot of the flowers they carry come from local farms and/or florists.
The store is called New Seasons.
    Best, Trina

  45. Those are gorgeous!
Can't believe they were at the grocery store.

The Florist at that grocery must be pretty impressive too.

And please accept my condolences about poor hubby's faulty memory lolol...this kind of "floral forgetfulness" is likely to occur more frequently in the days to come.

    Have a Lovely EASTER!

    In Him,
    Grace

  56. I love your blog! I have been admiring the pictures of your home in the Country living mag. I keep going back to it! We built our home 12 years ago. My Husband at the time wanted to paint all white. Not me needed color. Now 12 years later I am craving white! My question is what color and brand did you use on your walls? I have been trying to match with samples with no success. My other question is I have six Children with one on the way. Is white hard to keep clean. I have white on all my trim. Again love your blog . Your Children are too cute! I blog a little. May get back into now that I have seen yours! Blessings to you and your beautiful Family. Thanks Marla

  58. Hi Maria,
White has been great in our house, even with toddlers! I really think that the white makes the house feel cleaner even amidst the sometimes untidy chaos!
    Congratulations on your new baby.
