Limelight Dreams

The dining patio is beginning to stir after months of wintry stillness.

Thanks to the few hours of sunshine we're getting between the spring rains, the Limelight Hydrangea are budding.

It's hard to believe that those little buds will grow into such large fluffy blossoms.

The dining patio becomes a Limelight oasis by mid-summer.

As the late summer nights begin to cool, the Limelight blossoms fade to a soft pink.

Happy hydrangea dreams to you!

  5. Hi Trina, I've never waited so much with baited breath for the popping of Spring, as I do here in England. Back home in Melbourne we do have a decent Spring, but it arrives much quicker and after a less brutal winter...so I've been watching almost daily for signs of green on the hedgerows, trees etc and marvelling at the dafffs and now the tulips popping up everywhere! A bit of bad weather really makes one appreciate the warmer seasons! Robx

  26. Hi Trina, your blog and home are just beautiful. I was just reading through it and it brought happy tears to my eyes. Congratulations on your two little blessings. I also went through IVF when I was 38 and had my angel Nicholas and later adopted another little boy. God does work in mysterious ways. Enjoy those little ones because they grow so fast.

P.S. I was so glad you posted a picture of your patio presently as I always wondered exactly how those were planted along the sides of the patio but could never tell in previous photos-great idea with the planting beds incorporated in.

  50. Your patio is too beautiful for words! With patio like that, I'm sure you're anxiously awaiting the arrival of those blooms (no one could blame you).

I, too, am patiently waiting for the hydrangeas around here to burst into bloom; they are definitely one of my very favorite flowers.

  52. just came across your blog. Hydrangeas are my favorite. I have them planted where ever they will make it in my garden (I've tried many a spot where they didn't make it). I noticed your hydrangea branches are left much longer than mine during the off-season. Do you not cut yours back to the ground (or close to) each winter then? Does this yield bigger/better blooms?

  57. limelights are my absolute favorite--we had a drought last summer {late} in Ohio and these were amazing--we have a row of 8 close to the road abundant with blooms and I kid you not some people would slow down to look at them! I say don't waste money on annuals-!! I'm after Annabelle hydrangeas this year to put close to the house!!
