Trench digger 

This was dug by hand (due to trenching equipment failure) in order for us to switch from overhead to underground power.

    In inspecting the trench, I see he is a root tree protector... he dug around some of the pine tree roots rather than cut through them... He IS a keeper!

      Yes, I saw that too. He knew that I worried about hurting the trees. He went the extra mile for sure.

    What a workout! I grew up with a Dad who sounds just like the same kind of man-he instilled in me the value of hard work and self-reliance and still does all his own work at the age of 77. Nothing can (or will even attempt) to stop him-even sore muscles!

    A wonderful tribute! I'd say you make a great team. Trench digging is brutal. I am sure he was trying to focus on the long term benefits of buried electrical lines. It will be incredible when you get to call it home. Best wishes!

    Just curious...did you decide on your own to bury the wires/cables because of the look, or the storms that are always knocking them out? Also, is the city/town helping to pay for any of that?

      Both (although mostly cosmetic) and it was less expensive if we dug the ditch ourselves.
