  3. Yes, I agree, KEEPER should be the first word on that list. And to make things even nicer, he is not bad looking :)

  4. In inspecting the trench, I see he is a root tree protector... he dug around some of the pine tree roots rather than cut through them... He IS a keeper!

    1. Yes, I saw that too. He knew that I worried about hurting the trees. He went the extra mile for sure.

  5. What a workout! I grew up with a Dad who sounds just like the same kind of man-he instilled in me the value of hard work and self-reliance and still does all his own work at the age of 77. Nothing can (or will even attempt) to stop him-even sore muscles!

    1. Yes, and that's an enormous component to all of this. It's very challenging as there's only so much one person can do in a certain amount of time, but he's getting there,

  26. and a handsome fella with a right nice smile (self satisfied, perhaps, and with reason?). I'm enjoying following your house story, and somewhat envious, too. Keep those posts coming!

  27. A wonderful tribute! I'd say you make a great team. Trench digging is brutal. I am sure he was trying to focus on the long term benefits of buried electrical lines. It will be incredible when you get to call it home. Best wishes!

  28. I am so happy for you both. You have a truly amazing husband, and you know it! Lucky you.
I love your posts and your story and what you are doing together. Thanks for sharing!

  29. Just curious...did you decide on your own to bury the wires/cables because of the look, or the storms that are always knocking them out? Also, is the city/town helping to pay for any of that?

    1. Both (although mostly cosmetic) and it was less expensive if we dug the ditch ourselves.
