As winter slowly turns to spring, I thought I'd send a quick note out -
if you think your home should be on the pages
please write me at

Please include images of your beautiful home and a few words
that describe your home's special qualities.

  1. How exciting that would be . . . to be in Country Living and to see friends who are there too!

  2. I know you already know Janet from The Gardener's Cottage so am not e-mailing, but I have always thought that her home would provide a lovely spread for Country Living!

  4. I nominate my neighbors beautiful home and this is a link to a post I featured on my blog http://thebluefarmhouse.blogspot.com/2014/10/sneak-previewtake-1.html. My photos pale in comparison to a professional. She truly has a gorgeous home inside and out.

  7. Would love to grâce any page in country living, as for Janet at the Gardeners Cottage her petite French home now with a black bean soup paint to the exterior screams to be featured.

I am adding wood to my walls, and french rugs and cozy day beds to bring in more of a rural rustic language to my French brocante style home....where the French have this saying about there flea market finds..." Not quite valued, but not quite worthless."
When we owned Country in the city shop in Northern Calif, it had always been a dream to be part of the country living family, now residing in Southern Ca. Changes in living style and embracing my French roots have led me to a simplier life of living well with seemingly less, in all things French country living right down to driving a Jeep.

So looking forward to your homes reveal.
    Xx

  9. Catherine, do you have any idea how you and Mike have kept up the morale of so many of us fellow renovators while we, too, have been working right along w/ you in the background, tackling full house renovations. All these years, there have been many, many times that my husband and I hung up our gloves for the day, discouraged and tired, poured glasses of wine, then quickly to the computer to see if you'd gifted us with another hopeful installment.

Your extraordinary photography, writing, and spirit flew straight through the screen and saved us in more ways than you can imagine. [The babies coming when they did was SUCH a joy, we felt it along with you!] So imagine the jolt, the surprise, at the concept of YOU asking US for house photos! Wow.

Do I sense correctly that you're not exactly looking for a before/after story from us readers, or are you? If we have that kind of thing, should we send, or just focus on the finished project? Must one be a fellow blogger to submit?

  12. Thank you so much for this opportunity Catherine. I sent you some photos but loads more on my blog. Also, I forgot to say there is a very rustic, (no electricity, only old oil lamps), cottage. I've been a reader of your blog for several years and I'm thrilled to see your new house coming together, and also watching the babies grow. x

  13. I live in the country , there are vast fields and forests around my home and I am on an acre of trees , gardens and open lawns. That said, the house is a renovated 50s modern. It is very stylish but nothing that one would consider as a "country house" .. My gardens win the prize, the house comes in 2nd .. always :)

  14. I am so sorry I cannot include my country house in SW France. Thank you Catherine for your kind words and I am so glad you loved our house. Having looked through some of the suggestions here I can see why you stick to USA houses only, you have so many stunning homes to choose from without needing to look abroad! I think it is just wonderful that people take so much pride in their homes. After all home is where the heart is :)

  16. I have followed you and put your blog feed on my blog since your beautiful home has graced the pages of Country Living. I just found Gardeners Cottage what an adorable home....love her style. I sent a link to my blog although my home is more Beachy Farmhouse so not as much Country. Thanks for allowing readers to submit....Gabrielle Mader

Just sent you photos of our 1870's Farm house in Bellville, Texas very close to the Round Top Antiques show. Included lots of photos, but please keep in mind that the photos really do not do it justice.

    Hope you like it.

    Thanks
