As I have read your blog this past year, it has helped me re-live my own journey as a mother. You have helped me write this letter to my 23 year old son which I sent this am.

"My gift to you was my final act of being a good mother which really consisted of trusting myself and loving you enough to do what was right.

Read the baby Jesus story like we did all those years of your growing up and take it as it is whether fact or fiction--a story--of a miraculous birth of a baby boy from an unsure mother regardless of her own circumstances and peril to her own life births a child out of love and hope into an imperfect world then gives herself to guiding and teaching that precious child into adulthood until at the right time she with much trepidation trusts herself, withdraws her presence but not her endless love and has to watch her manchild suffer alone through his Gethsemane, he wanting but not wanting his mother until he can draw on his own acquired knowledge and self worth to forge his own path as an individual, where he eventually walks side by side in love with his mother. At the end of their journey the mother says to the world this is my son in whom I am well pleased!

This is our story that we are writing my dear Nicholas!

I love you! Merry Christmas!"

I wanted to share it with you Trina since someday you will have to write one as well. You don't know me but thank you for sharing your beautiful stories on this blog.
