August Blueberries

Graham is a gardener at heart. He runs around the vegetable garden picking and then sampling right off the vines! Shown here, the blueberries bushes were no exception. He even sampled a blackberry that wasn't ripe. After he removed it from his mouth and threw it onto the grass, I could just hear him thinking...hmmm, another week and they'll be delicious.  xo

Our berry pickings from last year, here and here

I think another gardener is "in bloom."

How funny! My young son does the EXACT same thing to our blueberry plants! I'm hoping that next year he'll leave enough for blueberry pancakes.

I will swap some of my queensland winter strawberries for some of your blueberries. I posted my first strawberry picking expedition if you'd like to see the gorgeous little heart shaped bundles of sweetness.

I am blown away with how fast the bebes have grown. Your family and home are a perfect example that true happiness is found in simplicity and respect and admiration for nature.

So adorable...can remember so vividly going strawberry picking and my daughter eating the berries right off the vine (more in her mouth than in the basket)...great memories!!

I grew up in the city, but have very vivid memories of visiting my grandparents in the country and eating directly off of the bushes that lined their property. I thought it was so magical!
