I found a lovely Moses Basket at a baby consignment store recently. It has the sweetest eyelet lace lining that I was able to remove, launder and press. This task took an entire day as each step had to wait for nap times.
Hubby was gracious enough to help me with photos. I assure you that he had other matters on his mind (he's a Wisconsin native, and the Super Bowl game was mere hours away), but he obliged me anyway. I even requested that he change out of his fourteen year-old Green Bay Packer sweatshirt (temporarily of course)...to which he also graciously obliged.

Can you guess which little sweet pea of ours was first to enjoy the new basket?

Ladies first! I scored a moses basket too for our little girl. It is funny, they are in it for a mere few seconds of life....and soon off and running.
I love those sweet first memories of garnering nap time for projects.
Remember to take a nap. Mommies deserve naps too.

Gosh, your Moses basket brings back wonderful memories for me. My youngest son had one the same. When he was born he weighed 5lbs and was so tiny premature baby cloths were too big. When we put him in the Moses basket, he looked lost. Now he is 25, 6 feet 4 inches and a daddy himself to a son and daughter how time fly’s. Make the most of your beautiful sweet babies before you know it they will be off to collage.
Margaret’s pink slippers are gorgeous!
I LOVE moses baskets...It was my fave thing fr each of my four brand new babes.
Also love the "bundle of love pink" crocheted (sp?) booties!
So sweet! and sweet of your guy to oblige xo
How cute! And the little pink shoes are precious. Would love to see the entire photo of her in the basket.
Last night we were rooting for the Packers (my husband is a Wisconsin native too) so we were very happy with the results. It was a great game. I'm sure Mike was tickled pink!
Gorgeous, I just love it!
Have a nice day, Lisa!
I love her sweet little pink feet.
aw...so CUTE!
Oh those sweet pink slippers on little Cinderella feet!!! Be still my heart.
How sweet, those tiny pink footsies...and the basket, too of course!
XOXO

How sweet -- I remember having a Moses basket for our son and daughter -- they outgrow them so fast -- but they were wonderful for toys and books later on. Enjoy your fleeting "Moses moments".
Great find! I really want a moses basket but they are so expensive online. Maybe I'll be able to find one from a consignment store too. Yours is beautiful!

That basket is so very pretty! Your precious little girl looks so sweet in it!
ohhhh, how pretty! I have heard people speak of these lately, perhaps a new trend? I had one when I was a baby, and my sister as well... not quite as pretty as this one though!

Trina,
Too sweet! I always wanted a moses baskets for my two, but never bought one.
Mike,
You are a gem...so glad your Packer's won! Just promise you won't be making those sweet babies wear cheeseheads!!!
What a beautiful basket!! And, I love her knit shoes!! What a sweet hubby. Bet he's a happy camper today.
So sweet! We had a moses basket for our daughter too, we loved it!
Such a sweet moses basket. Perfect for nap time! Looks like it is the perfect size for Margaret too. I bet your husband was thrilled over the win yesterday!
I have always admired them from afar. I wanted terribly to buy one for the first granddaughter but it seemed as though you only use it for such a short time. So I deferred to my more practical self. Now I am convinced. I will be scouring Craigslist and checking out thrift stores because I am happy to see that you did not find it a totally superfluous purchase. I am in. Yippee. Oh and thanks. I really always wanted one. I can put dolls in it until the next grandbaby comes...
hi trina,
such sweetness. can they both fit in there?
xo

My hubs is a Wisconsin native too...and he was also was in some old Packer shirt! Thank goodness they won after all that waiting for it to start yesterday!
I have girl twins (13 now) but we never had a Moses basket.
It is so sweet...love it!! Hope you got some rest while the babe was in it.

Love Margaret's pink shoes!

beautiful pictures...I'd say your sweet girl got first dibs at the Moses basket....love the Moses basket!!!!
That brings back lovely memories for me - of a baby boy who wasn't small long enough to make use of it, and of a baby girl who was so tiny that it was our travel bed for a very long time.
Sweet booties!
I had a Moses basket for my babies and we used it all the time...I miss those days of babies staring up at me and watching my every move. Now those babies are 17,15,12 and 5. Enjoy every moment with your little ones. The booties are beautiful.
What a treasure you discovered! I adore Princess Margaret's pink slippers.
The little pink feet are so tiny. Your photo chronicles are going to be fun for the twins to look back on someday. Blessings.
Very sweet! And congrats on the Packers win!
How lovely. I have long wanted a Moses basket, but couldn't justify the price. I just love it.
Absolutely precious.
Absolutely gorgeous! I am still so jealous that you have twins- so magical!
So sweet.. You must tell me how much you love it and if the buy is worth it. I'm expecting my second baby in July and have been wanting a Moses
basket for him or her. But I didn't know if it was worth the cost...
Congrats on your sweet babies. Nothing better.

I can't get enough! Your photos are so creative!
We're awaiting our third little one, and your pics tide me over until we can see our babe in person : ) 3.5 months and counting...

How sweet! Carla
Ah...We had a little wicker crib for our babies...I made it a cotton lining with sprigs of flowers on the fabric. Happy times.
What a sweet Moses basket! I love it! And those little tootsies in the pink booties....precious. Your husband was sweet to help you out. Tell him major brownie points, esp. considering the game and all.
Take care,
Gail
Well worth the effort. It is all about the details, even with twins :) Even with 5 kids I still try to work in he special details ,when i can ;0
I think you need to clone that husband of yours...what a treasure and a great pic too.
I just adore Moses baskets! I tried to find one during my pregnancies - now almost 6 years ago - but where I live nobody uses Moses baskets, so I had to settle for something less. Enjoy this happy and exhausting period and do try to get some rest if you can!

First time here. Beautiful blog! Love those little feet in pink!

simply ADORABLE..... ♥
xoxo laurie
love this... and the pink feet... the best.. xoxo
GO PACKERS! Even though I didn't know who they were before the game (I don't follow football), I was rooting for the packers simply because they haven't won the super bowl since the 1990's. Looks like I made the right choice :)
The Moses basket is adorable, love all the pure white!
I absolutely adore your blog and house! So glad I found it :)
Hugs xoxo
LOVE Moses baskets, and one with white broderie anglaise, even sweeter !! And as for the precious little one on the bed, gorgeous. Women often say that no-one tells them what motherhood is like, but I don't think we don't tell each other, it's just something that until you experience it it isn't fathomable. Same world, WHOLE different universe!
I like renovation blogs. We renovated an old brownstone in Albany, New York 6 years ago and it was soooo beautiful. And, then we got tranferred (twice). I'll poke around a bit and enjoy your lovely blog. I already have enjoyed that adorable Moses basket and those sweet baby feet!
I am loving both the basket and the slippers! Just lovely. :) Kit
This is so lovely!
